Worth knowing about holiday homes

General information

Key issue | In most cases the tenant must pick up the key for the holiday home before arriving to the home. The key can be issued no earlier than 14.00 on the day of arrival. The exact address of where to pick up the key will clearly emerge from the rental certificate. On the day of departure the tenant must return the key on an address received together with the key. The holiday home must be left on the day of departure no later than 10.00.

Furnishing and equipment | Our holiday homes are in most cases privately owned and thus furnished and equipped according to the taste of the individual owner. Apart from the necessary cutlery, cooking equipment and utensils all holiday homes are individually equipped with furniture etc. In most cases the single beds are 70 - 85 cm wide and 170 - 190 long. The bunk beds are mostly best suited for children and often have foam rubber mattresses. The homes have duvets, blankets and pillows according to the number of persons that are allowed in the cottage. The holiday homes are usually electricly heated and are in some cases equipped with small water heaters (20-30l). The hot water is when used economically sufficient for 2 showers. Please note that the tenant must bring his own towels, bed linen, dish towels etc. See also price list with surcharges for renting equipment. In all holiday homes there is garden furniture with a table and chairs according to the number of persons that are allowed in the cottage. Sunshades and/or deck chairs and cusions are considered to be extra equipment and will therefore not be found in all holiday homes.

Please also note that some holiday areas are also resident areas and that building activity and traffic may occur. These factors do not warrant price reductions.

Satellite receivers are primarily tuned to receive German channels.

Electricity consumption | In most cases a surcharge must be paid for e.g. energy consumption during the rental period. The consumption is in most cases measured by means of an electricity meter (in 2012: 2.50 DKK/kWh) and in homes with whirlpool is water consumption measured with a water meter (in 2012: 45 DKK/m3), and it is the tenant's responsibility to read the meter at arrival and departure. The amount for the consumption is to be paid in cash on the day of departure in connection with returning the key. A consumption document is handed out together with the key upon arrival.

Final cleaning | As most of the homes are situated in the nature, there may be some kinds of insects eg. flies or ants in or at the holiday homes. Even after thorough cleaning cobweb may occur shortly hereafter. In fall mice may occur in the homes.

It is the tenant's responsibility to leave the holiday home in clean and tidy condition. If the home is left in an unacceptabel condition the travel organiser will charge a fee and the costs relating to a cleaning of the home. In connection with booking a holiday home, a final cleaning service can be purchased. Please be aware that regardless a possible purchase of final cleaning, the tenant must always leave the holiday home in a tidy and acceptable condition. With the key issue follows a set of rules and information regarding cleaning of the holiday home.

Bed linen | Bed linen can be delivered to the home on arrival and picked up on departure. One package consists of 1 pillow case, 1 duvet cover, 1 sheet, 2 towels and 1 dish towel. Price per package € 17.

High chair and/or child's cot | High chair and/or child's cot can be delivered to the home on arrival and picked up on departure. Price per chair or cot per week € 21.

We recommend that extra services are booked together with the booking of the holiday homes.

Dogs and pets | It is permitted in only some holiday homes to bring a dog/pet. If it is allowed to bring a dog/pet in a holiday home (see icon) it means max. 1 dog/pet. The tenant must always inform BORNHOLMTOURS if a dog or pet is brought to the holiday home even when a dog/pet is allowed.

Fee | An administration fee of € 12 is charged.
